Seeing it through their eyes.

Struck by the sudden realisation that as a complete newbie to a lot of the digi work we are doing (feeling behind the 8 ball most of the time) my plight is exactly that of some of our struggling students. It's over your head most of the time and you struggle to keep up. It's no wonder they give up. However being able to rewind the lessons is great, basically to learn at your own pace. Why didn't we have this when I was at school….( oh that's right we didn't have computers) hell with that sort of help I wouldn't have ended up a teacher lol.

  1. Kia ora Steve,
Your last comment made me laugh out loud! I think you are ahead of the 8 ball if, at Week 3, you already recognise the struggle that some of our students may have in accessing learning in a non-digital environment. Welcome to the wonderful world of rewindable learning!

  2. Yeah, having all the resources on hand with the devices really makes it easier to back track. Sometimes when I do it, it almost feels like cheating. Even though I was partially raised on the internet, some stuff I have to re-read through. And even after our DFI, it will all still be there!

  3. Yes having technology certainly helps with teaching and ensuring all children have access to their learning Having to keep up with the change in technologies is becoming harder though.

  5. Kia ora Steve,
You make a really good point about being put in the shoes of our learners. It's a bit of a humbling experience isn't it! But the power of rewindable learning to help us find our way out of the learning pit is indeed something to be thankful for. Remember we are also here to help.
